Short videos for businesses, from production to publishing

Short videos for businesses means continuous, ready-to-publish video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Formi handles the whole chain: ideation, scripting, shooting, editing and publishing. We produce 10–16 short videos a month, and the price is built around the amount of content, the channels and the media budget. Our clients' content gathers around 7 million views a month.

What is a short video

A short video is a vertical video under a minute long, designed to be watched on a phone with or without sound. The typical length is 15–45 seconds. The format is used on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, and the same video can be published on all three.

A short video differs from a traditional corporate video in two ways. It's vertical, because it's watched on a phone. And it's made for the algorithm, not for a campaign: the first two seconds decide whether the viewer stays or not.

What outsourcing short videos includes

A company usually buys short-video production because its own team doesn't have time to run continuous content production. Outsourced production covers these stages:

  • Ideation and scripting. Content concepts that fit the brand and work on the platform.
  • Shooting. One or two shoot days a month. All of the month's videos are shot in one go.
  • Editing. Cutting, subtitles, graphics and music, ready to publish.
  • Publishing. Multi-channel publishing and a publishing calendar.
  • Reporting. A monthly analysis of what worked and why.

In practice, the client's workload is limited to setting the framework and approving the content.

How much do short videos cost

Formi's short-video production is monthly, not a one-off purchase. The price is built around the amount of content, the channels and the media budget, so there is no single list price. The market benchmarks are clear: a freelancer typically charges €200–500 per video, and an in-house creator costs around €3,500–5,000 a month including employer costs. If the content is also advertised, a realistic minimum media budget is around €1,000 a month.

Videos per monthShoot daysPrice per videoBest suited for
2 / month1 / monthHighest, because the shoot day is split across only two videosA one-off need, not continuous work
10 / month1 / monthClearly lower, the same shoot day is used in fullA continuous publishing rhythm on one set of channels
16 / month2 / monthLowest, when production and post-production are done as a seriesSeveral channels, ad versions and faster testing

Besides the number of videos, the overall price depends on whether we also manage the paid advertising and whether separate ad versions of the content are needed. Additional productions, such as a monthly live broadcast, also add to the workload. A custom package is always agreed case by case.

The price of a single video drops the more videos are produced per month, because the shoot day is the single biggest cost. With ten videos a month, one shoot day is enough, and the price per video ends up clearly below a one-off purchase. We'll go through the price of the right package for you in the meeting, once we know the number of videos, the channels and the media budget.

How quickly short videos deliver results

Most of our clients see clear progress during the first month of working together. That doesn't mean sales double in a month. It means views and saves start to climb and we begin to see which type of content works for this particular brand.

Short video is a channel built on repetition. A single video can succeed by chance, but consistent results come from publishing often enough and cutting what doesn't work. That's why we sell monthly work, not individual videos.

TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts

The same vertical video works on all three channels, but the channels play different roles. TikTok is the most effective at reaching a new audience, because its recommendation algorithm distributes content to non-followers too. Instagram Reels is best at reaching an audience that already knows the brand, and supports the path to purchase through the profile and the shop. YouTube Shorts keeps gathering views the longest, since content is also found through search weeks after publishing.

In practice we publish the same content on all three and look at the data to see where each concept thrives. Channel-specific specialisation only pays off once the data shows a clear difference.

What makes or breaks a short video

Three things separate a short video that works from wallpaper:

  1. The first two seconds. The viewer decides whether to keep watching before they have time to think. The hook is the single most important element of a video, which is why we test several hook variations of the same content.
  2. One thing per video. A video that tries to say three things says none. One question, one answer, one emotion.
  3. Publishing rhythm. The algorithm needs material to learn which content finds its audience. That's why our minimum is 10 videos a month: a slower pace doesn't give the data a chance.

Who this is for

The service suits consumer brands that already have a product to sell and a need to get it in front of more people. Our clients include OnePlus, Sneak.fi, Forza, Props and Weekend Festival.

The service isn't a fit if you're looking for a single campaign video or want to make the content yourselves and buy only the editing. There are cheaper providers for that.
